Common Questions

Do many HOAs use security guards?

Most HOA communities have some type of security presence.

What is the difference between an armed and unarmed guard?

Security guards (whether they carry a firearm or not) can be put into two different categories: Armed guards and unarmed guards. The single difference between an armed guard and an unarmed guard is a firearm. Our unarmed guards are authorized to carry stun guns, pepper spray, hand cuffs and batons.

Which HOA communities use armed guards?

HOAs that utilize armed guards are more common among larger HOA communities, gated HOA communities and HOAs with higher crime rates in the area.

Are HOAs safer with armed HOA guards?

Yes, some HOAs are actually in more danger when their HOA association does not use armed HOAs. The HOA crime rates could be much higher without the presence of an HOA armed security guard.

How many hours of security is needed?

This depends greatly on the location of the neighborhood and the physical security measures in place. Does the community have gates, is it located in an urban or rural area? These are the type of things we will discuss in our risk mitigation strategy consultation.
