Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before choosing a security provider, answered plainly.

Should I contract a guard or a patrol?

Most new clients start with patrol services for cost-effectiveness. Our consultants assess your specific needs and may recommend the appropriate option. Patrol is ideal for most commercial/HOA clients; guards are better for high-risk or high-visibility locations.

Does Americal Patrol provide armed or unarmed services?

Yes, we hold licenses enabling both armed and unarmed patrol and guard services. During your free consultation, we'll recommend the right option based on your property's risk profile.

What is the difference between a security guard and a security patrol?

A security guard remains at the property or location during a set period of time to watch and report. A security patrol drives or walks the property at staggered time intervals and checks procedures from the client.

What additional services do you provide?

Alarm response (for current clients), fire watch, door checks, patrol slip delivery, property area securing, and dedicated marked vehicles for larger properties.

What services does Americal Patrol NOT provide?

We do not provide cash management, electronic alarm monitoring (that's a separate service), standalone alarm response for non-clients, or security for high-risk venues such as nightclubs or bars.

Do you offer guard card training or a security school?

No. Americal Patrol is a security services company, not a training school, and we do not issue guard cards. To get your California guard card, you need to complete training through a BSIS-approved facility. The California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services maintains the official guide at bsis.ca.gov/applicants/guard.shtml. Once you have an active card, you're welcome to apply for a position with us.

How is billing handled?

All calls go to (805) 515-3834, Monday–Friday, 8 AM–6 PM. This line covers billing, services, and general questions.

Are your officers licensed and trained?

All officers are licensed under the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS). We conduct background checks on all personnel. Armed officers hold active Firearm Permits.

Do you offer free consultations?

Yes. Our free security consultation includes a detailed examination of potential risks and solutions for avoiding threats to your property. No obligation.

How quickly can you start service?

For most properties, we can begin service within a few business days after the consultation. For urgent needs (fire watch, event security), call us directly at (805) 515-3834.

What counties do you serve?

Ventura County, Los Angeles County, and North Orange County, 70+ cities total.
